The hotel offers 96 guestrooms and suites in four two-story buildings and two three-story buildings (no elevators), all of them white with pink or white lattice trim and all facing a long, narrow central courtyard containing pools and gardens. Rooms and suites' white walls, tile floors, and bedspreads serve as backdrops for floral-motif throw pillows and drapes; straw-mat area rugs; bleached, cappuccino-colored furniture; upholstered chairs with ottomans; and nature prints on walls. Louvered panels and front doors combine with ceiling fans to offer a cooling alternative to rooms and suites' air conditioning. Electrical kettles heat water for instant coffee and tea. AMENITIES & SERVICES
|
|
What to expect: Couples and families with older children are attracted to this seven-acre hotel, which was a former men’s club that has been restored and enlarged. Tranquility reigns at this hotel, which is secluded at the end of a long driveway lined by mature casuarina (tropical pine) trees. Amenity highlights: The turquoise Caribbean Sea gently washes along a 400-yard beach. Tall casuarina trees partly shade the section fronting the hotel. Umbrellas also offer shade, while thickly cushioned lounge chairs provide sunbathing enjoyment. Cushioned lounge chairs also ring four narrow, rock-lined, lagoon pools in a courtyard running through the hotel's center. The courtyard features rock waterfalls, flower gardens, and tall tropical trees. Insider tip: Early mornings and early evenings, green vervet monkeys, originally brought by settlers from Africa, swing through tall trees along a slough at the hotel's southern boundary.
