    The resort offers 161 guestrooms in seven three- and four-story light-orange buildings (no elevators) with green trim that form a U-shape around a central pool-and-garden courtyard. Decor features cool tropical colors and tile floors. Ceiling fans and louvered panels or windows provide a cooling alternative to rooms' air conditioning.

    Sunset Restaurant - Open-air seating under conical wood roof. Sea views at front. Linen-service. Buffet breakfast with omelet station. Main courses include steamed flying fish with green banana coo coo; fried chicken with brown-sugar gravy; pork chops with plantain-rum sauce; seafood curry; pumpkinseed-crusted lamb chops; beef in rum-pepper sauce.     Tommy's Bar - Casual, second-story, open-air spot featuring multi-colored wood decor, pool table, board-game tables. Sandwiches late morning to early evening

    Piano Bar - Cozy, air-conditioned spot under two conical wood roofs. Singalong, karaoke. Late-night snacks.

    AMENITIES & SERVICES
    What to expect: The compact, four-acre resort supplies tranquil daylight sunbathing and lively after-dark entertainment and socializing that attracts young-adult and middle-age couples from the U.S., Canada, and Europe.

    Amenity highlights: A courtyard with tall tropical plantings contains a large, two-level pool divided by a waterfall, an eight-person cool-water spa tub flowing into another pool, and a sunning lawn furnished with lounge chairs. The Caribbean Sea washes up to coral-rock formations along the resort's 100-yard water frontage. Above the rocks is a sand terrace furnished with lounge chairs shaded by trees in mornings, but sunny in afternoons.

    Insider tip: A visitor-oriented shopping mall lies just across the street, with a West Indian-style open-air shopping village 400 yards away and another shopping mall 100 yards beyond that.

    A health-and-beauty spa contains a large, mirror-wall, air-conditioned fitness center with cardio and weight machines as well as free weights and a workout room for aerobics and West Indian dance classes. The spa offers massage, hydrotherapy, body treatments, facials, waxing, and hair and nail care and provides men's and women's saunas and steam rooms. Treatment options include Thalassotherapy algae and seaweed baths, couples massage, aromatherapy salt scrubs, body wraps, and men's facials.

    Group activities and entertainments include Bajan (Barbadian) cooking classes, West Indian dance lessons, pool aerobics, and nightly entertainment on a stage located in the main restaurant.

    RECREATION
    The All Inclusive Plan includes use of Hobie Cat sailboats, snorkeling gear, windsurfers, pedal boats, and kayaks as well as water skiing, banana boating, rod-and-reel fishing off the beach, and tennis on one lighted court. Independent operators on the beach offer Jet Skiing and parasailing (surcharges).

    Adjacent to Almond Beach Club, Sandy Lane resort offers three golf courses and a 450-yard driving range. Shoes and clubs are available for rent. Designed by Tom Fazio, The Green Monkey championship course--carved out of a coral-stone quarry--features abrupt elevation changes and panoramic sea views. Also designed by Tom Fazio, The Country Club championship course features open fairways, five lakes, and sea views. The Old Nine is a 9-hole layout featuring tree-lined fairways.
